Fred Bier Schwarzbier
Posted by Tamara Pollick on
Our Fred Bear tribute was created for Beer Camp, (I mean Deer Camp) when the chili is plentiful, the spirits are high, and the White Tail are roaming. There's no better time to homebrew and warm yourself over a kettle than after a long chilly day in the woods, surrounded by fellow hunters, making up stories about what you had in your sights.
With some traditional German malts, your base to this balances the sweet, rich flavors that the Chocolate and Black malts bring to the profile. The Hallertau German pellets add a mild but pleasant IBU under 30, while the estimated ABV is a consumable 5.2%. This homebrew is going to go great with your chili or venison stroganoff, and is a great addition to any recipe, or marinade! A friendly reminder to always practice safe and sober hunting, and remember that rifles and alcohol are never a good pairing.
Prost to the Legend, and may you channel him through this brew to bring you your trophy White Tail!
